I'm Jordan: co-founder of Websavers: a website management and server hosting company.
As managing partners, Allen and I oversee the daily operations at Websavers, including server and network management, WordPress site creation and problem solving, and web and email systems analysis.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a business minor from Dalhousie University in Halifax.
In the mid-2000s I developed the beginnings of a vehicle shipping software platform designed to integrate sales quotes, billing, and logistics.
In 2015 I helped my partner and chef, Krista, turn a small ice cream canteen in a local park into a thriving seasonal restaurant that continued until 2024.
Around 2018 I worked closely with a friend in the office-space industry to create a co-working bookings platform called Shftwork.
I do my best to spend money at locally owned businesses instead of big chains.
I like sci-fi over fantasy, Apple products over Microsoft or Google, asynchronous communications (letters, emails) over phone & video, and open source WordPress over proprietary website builders like Wix or Squarespace.
I believe everyone should have 100% control over their web property. I like contributing code. I often find great software that simply needs a few tweaks to fix some bugs, improve behaviour, or add new functionality; so I fix it, then send it back to the developer to include in official releases.
I have previously worked in computer repair for over a decade, handled network systems admin for non-profits, law firms, and universities, and provided web software development consulting and project management for startups.
If you want to know more, or want to chat, don’t hesitate to say hi; simply send me a message (but please don't call me, hah).
