Ashton Might be Gay
As of early last Monday, the 15th of December, I was on my Way to Ajijic Mexico for the holidays. It started at the Halifax Airport at about 7AM with plans to head to Newark, on to Houston and then to Guadalajara, which is about 30 minutes away from Ajijic. The layover was supposed to be approximately 2 hours in Newark and Houston, but due to fog in Houston the first one became 5 hours and the second was 0 hours since, upon arrival, I barely made it to my flight out of Houston by dashing across the airport to the required gate.
As a result of all this I had a bit extra time to waste in Newark, so I decided to catch up on at least one of my favourite podcasts. I launched iTunes and literally laughed out loud at what I saw. Poor Ashton was broadcasting this shared iTunes library all across the Boingo wireless hotspot network to visitors throughout the Newark airport, very very likely unaware! I think what had me laughing the most is that this is exactly the kind of prank I would play on friends of mine – the ‘slightly unnoticeable, yet hilarious to those who know how it got there’ type. Awesome.
This is a wonderful prank. At King’s people routinely rename their itunes libraries in order to impersonate well-known professors at the college and attribute to them a most embarassing playlist. If all goes to plan some hapless student will foolishly attempt to strike up a conversation about some embarassing band under completely false pretenses.
